Spartan also meets the GMC requirement of having 5600 clock hours of study during the MD program. The letter from General Medical Council (GMC), UK states that it will consider holders of PMQs issued by Spartan HSU who started their course of study during or after January 2009 on a case-by-case basis. In doing so, we will be seeking to be satisfied that they hold a PMQ that complies with all of the relevant GMC criteria. The PMQ must satisfy those criteria both at the point the holder graduated, and at the point at which they apply for registration.
The following special case is applicable to all transferring students who would like to apply for GMC registration in United Kingdom. They have to spend one year and 8 months (1.8) of basic science and preclinical studies in our St. Lucia campus in order to qualify for GMC registration as our regular students. In the case when the transfer students will not be able to complete the one year and 8 months by the end of the 5th trisemester, they should make-up the remaining time with clinical observership in St. Lucia in order to qualify for GMC registration.
